After the ferry on Sunday October 14, I spent two days around Nelson. Then a day in the Golden Bay after the Abel Tasman Track.

  • Cullen Point

On the road between Picton and Nelson I stopped at Cullen Point. A short walk of one hour. Not bad in the forest but from time to time a small thinning between the branches allowed to have a nice view.

I advise you to stop there only if you really have the time, it’s not an exceptional spot but it allows a little stroll!

  • Cable bay

I had already been to this beautiful place this winter but having a little time on Nelson I wanted to show it to my travelmate. This time I went to the private island!

  • Nelson

Do you know that Nelson is the center of New Zealand? You will need to climb a little higher at Botanical Hill.

I had already seen the beautiful South Street, a small street with traditional cottages!

  • Golden Bay point

After my hike in Abel Tasman I went to the end of the Golden Bay first see the Cape Farewell (it looks a bit like Normandy…).

Then direction Wharariki beach! Do not look for the Elephant rock, it does not exist anymore…

By cons if you go at low tide you can see seals bask! Young seals played and one of them likes to make his star in front of tourists!
