After the night spent in Oamaru<\/a> I drove to Pukaki! The weather forecast was pretty good but with my travelmate we preferred to wait until the second day on the spot to go to Mount Cook because it was announced without a cloud!<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Around Pukaki lake<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After a cloudy early morning the weather got a little up for a nice view of Lake Pukaki and Mount Cook:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I had seen that Lake Benmore was pretty nice. The best view is completely to the south and was a bit too far from Pukaki. So I took the road along the lake from the north to stop a little break in the sun a little further.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The free camp offered a nice view! Be careful, someone tried to open the van (at the front) that night. Close it well!!<\/span><\/p>\n

      Mount Cook<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The next day, head to Mount Cook to make the Hooker Valley Track to Hooker Lake. After heavy rains the water was not clear but you can still see some pieces of glacier and Mount Cook in the background.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Then walk to the blue lakes (which are no longer blue due to the melting of the glacier) and the Tasman glacier. The view above is definitely worth a visit!<\/span><\/p>\n

        Lake Tekapo<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The next day to Tekapo and the famous lupins around the lake. It was only the beginning so not very many but it was still very beautiful!<\/span><\/p>\n
