Okay leave the weekend of July 14 in France is not really the most cheap but never mind! After seeing a lot of publications on Instagram I opted for <strong>Venice<\/strong>.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">So I left on Thursday evening to return on Sunday evening. For a practical reason I took a first\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.fr\/rooms\/11560478\">Airbnb<\/a> near the airport. And then to <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>Venice<\/em> <\/span>for the rest of the stay. =&gt; Note to myself: think about looking if the roads are pedestrian friendly before deciding to walk out of the airport\u00a0\ud83d\ude0a<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'arial black', sans-serif;\">Day 1 : Arrival on Venice<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Arrival at my second\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.fr\/rooms\/4945854\">Airbnb<\/a> (where I was &#8220;upgraded&#8221;) I discover my room with joy. I was in the Santa Croce district and here is my personal balcony!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">NB: To go to Venice itself you have to take either a shuttle or the bus 5. I chose the second option cheaper, it is in half an hour from the airport<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-463\" src=\"https:\/\/travelandrundotblog.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/07\/4bef59ef-5c44-4353-a958-3d39178873e4.jpg?w=364&#038;resize=182%2C300\" alt=\"4BEF59EF-5C44-4353-A958-3D39178873E4\" width=\"182\" height=\"300\" \/> \u00a0\u00a0 <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-469\" src=\"https:\/\/travelandrundotblog.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/07\/img_7155.jpg?w=400&#038;resize=200%2C300\" alt=\"IMG_7155\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Then head towards the beautiful little streets of Venice to the square <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>San Marco<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0I went to the go by the bridge <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>dell Accademia<\/em><\/span>\u00a0then back by the bridge <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>di Rialto<\/em><\/span>. First impression a bit disconcerting, not necessarily possible here to say &#8220;I walk towards the EST I would arrive near my goal easily&#8221;. A lot of dead-end streets and not always bridges where you hope. In short, a lot of detour to do! And some streets are so small that we go in single file but it&#8217;s all the charm of this city!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">I visited the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>Basilica San Marco<\/em><\/span>(Be careful, you have to have the shoulders covered and a skirt \/ shorts quite long: a piece of cloth is sold 1E at the entrance if you don&#8217;t). The entry of the Basilica is free (silence de rigueur and prohibited photos).\u00a0However, if you want to access the small <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>terraces<\/em> <\/span>it will cost 6E.\u00a0I am then going to eat a dessert at <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>Hard Rock Caf\u00e9<\/em> <\/span>and then continued to walk before returning to rest a bit my little feet \ud83d\ude0a. I finished my day at a restaurant terrace to eat pastas. It&#8217;s really a very pretty island (although we do not cross a lot of local people&#8230;). If you have to go to only one island, it is really this one that I advise you! The houses are beautiful and we see that the inhabitants want to present their homes in their best lights. The facade\u00a0<span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>paints<\/em> <\/span> are for many paint regularly. You can visit factories and there are small shops everywhere! I advise you to visit a factory instead of the museum. The island is less typical than Burano, so it looks more like Venice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">On my return I took advantage of my day pass Vaporetto! I started with the visit of the majestic<span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>\u00a0Doges&#8217; Palace<\/em><\/span>. If you can only visit one historic building, this is it! The ticket allows you to visit the Correr Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Marciana Library as well, provided you do it the same day.\u00a0You can visit the different rooms for major decision-making. Indeed, a temporary bridge had been erected for a fireworks display. I am always amazed by the architecture and the historical imprint of all the cities I visit (I have already done the region of Naples, <a href=\"http:\/\/travelandrun.blog\/2017\/08\/17\/rome-2014\/\">Rome<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/travelandrun.blog\/2017\/08\/30\/milan-septembre-2015\/\">Milan<\/a>). I cann&#8217;t wait to discover the other unknown cities! Good cons we must not go in diet mode, not easy to eat something other than pizza and pasta. Or you have to increase the budget! Another thing I really enjoyed in Venice is that we do not wait long before entering a museum or a holy place, it&#8217;s very nice!
